Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find the information you’re looking for below, please feel free to contact us directly through our general inquiry form, which can be found here.

Helpful information about the retreat experience, reservation process, and what to expect before securing your space.

Discover Bali is intentionally being kept small, with the experience thoughtfully centered around approximately 12 guests. This allows for a quieter atmosphere, greater flexibility throughout the journey, and more meaningful connection among the group.

Not at all. While yoga and mindful movement are woven throughout the retreat, all practices are designed to be supportive, accessible, and adaptable for a variety of experience levels. Guests are always encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable and aligned with their individual needs.

Guests are invited to complete the retreat inquiry form through the Begin the Journey page. Once submitted, we’ll personally follow up with additional details, room availability, and next steps for securing your reservation. Go to inquiry form.

Once your inquiry has been received, we’ll personally follow up with additional retreat information, room availability, payment details, and next steps for securing your reservation. Because accommodations are limited and each room within the estate offers a unique experience, room selections are handled individually and thoughtfully.

Important guidance for flights, airport transfers, visas, insurance, weather, arrival planning, and preparing for your journey to Bali.

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is required for participation in the retreat and should include coverage for medical expenses, travel interruptions, delays, and emergency evacuation. Additional travel insurance information and resources from one of our trusted travel partners will also be available during the reservation process and screening call.

All guests will be required to provide proof of valid travel insurance coverage no later than April 1, 2027. We also recommend traveling with a copy of your policy information and emergency contact details throughout the retreat.

To help simplify the planning process, we’ve partnered with two trusted travel insurance providers that offer a variety of coverage options for international travel. While guests are welcome to purchase insurance through any provider that meets the retreat requirements, many travelers appreciate the convenience of comparing plans through our preferred partners:

Trawick International
A popular choice for international travelers, offering a variety of plans with options for trip cancellation, medical coverage, and emergency travel protection. Click here to explore Trawick options

Allianz Travel Insurance
One of the world’s most recognized travel insurance providers, offering comprehensive coverage options and a wide range of plan choices for domestic and international travel.  Click here to explore Allianz options

We encourage all guests to review policy details carefully and select the coverage that best fits their individual travel needs.

Guests should plan to fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar, Bali.

Most travelers entering Indonesia will need an electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) or other approved travel documentation prior to arrival. Additional visa guidance, links, and preparation information will be provided closer to the retreat.

The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). While many restaurants, shops, and spas accept credit cards, we recommend carrying some local currency for smaller purchases, markets, gratuities, and independent exploration.

Many guests choose to activate an international phone plan prior to departure or use Bali-based eSIM or SIM card services upon arrival. WiFi is available throughout the retreat estate and at many restaurants and cafes throughout Ubud.

Yes. Discover Bali includes scheduled group airport transfers on both arrival day and departure day. We will also provide transport from Ubud to our Retreat Home for those guests arriving early. Guests arriving outside of our scheduled transfer windows may easily arrange private transportation through trusted Bali ride share or airport transfer services such as Grab or Gojek. Typical transportation costs from DPS Airport to the Ubud area generally range from approximately $30–$45 USD depending on traffic, time of day, and exact destination.

Depending on traffic conditions, the drive from DPS Airport to our Retreat Home near Ubud generally ranges from approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

Many guests choose to arrive a day or two early to rest, adjust to the time change, and explore Ubud before the retreat officially begins. Recommended hotel options, location guidance, and additional arrival information can be found throughout the Bali Retreat Planning page.

September is generally considered one of Bali’s most beautiful times of year, with warm temperatures, tropical humidity, lush landscapes, and a mix of sunshine and occasional rain showers. Lightweight, breathable clothing is strongly recommended, along with a light layer for early mornings and the Mount Batur sunrise experience. Additional preparation guidance and recommended packing suggestions can also be found within our downloadable packing guide.
